Recognizing Juneteenth

Known also as African American Independence Day, Jubilee Day, or Freedom Day, Juneteenth is a celebration of the emancipation of enslaved Black people in America. While this day have been officially recognzied by some states since the late 70's, it did not become a federal holiday until 2021.

As we approach Juneteenth, we encourage you to check out the many resources available from the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Teach For America, and the IACBE Resources for Black History Month.
