The International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ann Saurbier has been elected to the IACBE Board of Commissioners.
Dr. Saurbier begins her first three-year term with the Board of Commissioners this April. She has previously served as an IACBE site visitor and site visit team chair for the last three years. Dr. Saurbier currently serves as the Dean of the Gary E. West College of Business at West Liberty University, in West Liberty, West Virginia, and served as the Accreditation Liaison to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) for West Liberty. She previously served as the Chair of Management and Doctoral Programs at Walsh College in Troy, Michigan, and additionally served as the Director of Student Learning Outcomes at Walsh, working with faculty to advance the assessment of student learning processes. While at Walsh, she acted as a peer reviewer for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Before joining Walsh, she worked as the Budget Development Director at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her professional career includes experience in the automotive and legal industries as well.
As a professor of Management, Dr. Saurbier has taught a wide variety of management courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. She has been able to combine her experience in assessment with her research agenda and has authored several articles on the application of business practices and evidence-based management to the American higher education accreditation and assessment process. Dr. Saurbier has additionally presented her work nationally and internationally, exploring further the construct of quality in higher education. Dr. Saurbier earned a Doctor of Management in Executive Leadership and Master of Science in Management from Walsh College and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
