Accreditation Process
What are the steps to becoming an IACBE member?
Institutions follow a three-step journey:
- Educational Member – Gain mentorship & resources.
- Candidate for Accreditation – Meet candidacy requirements & submit an assessment plan.
- Member with Accredited Programs – Achieve full accreditation.
Can an institution join IACBE if it is already accredited by another agency?
Yes! Many IACBE members hold multiple accreditations.
How long does the accreditation process take?
Once accepted into candidacy, institutions have up to five years to complete accreditation. Most complete the process in 2-4 years. Accreditation is valid for up to 7 years before renewal.

How much does it cost to be a member of IACBE?
For 2025, annual membership dues are $2,750. Accreditation maintenance fees range from $500-$1,500 based on the number of accredited programs.
