Dear Friends and Colleagues:
On behalf of the Nominating Committees for the Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners of the IACBE, I am requesting nominations for membership on the two boards. As specified in the bylaws, the membership of the Assembly will vote on a slate of nominees for the two boards at the Annual Conference and Assembly Meeting in April 2022.
Board of Directors:
According to the IACBE Bylaws, members of the Board of Directors must be from Academic Business Units with IACBE-accredited business programs that are in good standing. Directors for the following positions will need to be elected:
Vice Chair – The person elected to this position will serve two years as Vice Chair, a second two years as Chair, and a third two years as Past Chair.
Region 1 (New England Regional Assembly) – Vacant
Region 7 (Northwest Regional Assembly) – The current incumbent, Dr. Belle Marie from Carroll College, is finishing her first term on the board and is eligible for a second term.
Region 10 (Asian Regional Assembly) – The current incumbent, Dr. Robert Gharios from American University of Science and Technology, is finishing his first term on the board and is eligible for a second term
Region 11 (Latin America Regional Assembly) – The current incumbent, Dr. Belinda Blessitt-Vincent from University College of the Cayman Islands, is finishing her first term on the board and is eligible for a second term.
Public Member – The Assembly may also elect public members to serve on the Board of Directors.
Board of Commissioners:
According to the IACBE Bylaws, members of the Board of Commissioners must come from Academic Business Units with IACBE-accredited business programs that are in good standing.
In addition, the IACBE Board of Commissioners Policies and Procedures Manual stipulates the following additional criteria for non-public membership on the board:
1. The nominee must be at least professionally qualified to teach business courses.
2. The nominee must have participated in a site-visit peer reviewer training workshop.
3. The nominee must have been a member of a site-visit team.
4. The nominee must have participated in a site-visit team chair training workshop.
Commissioners for the following positions will need to be elected:
There are no non-public member seats open on the Board of Commissioners this year.
Public Member – The current incumbent, Laurie Barr, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, is finishing her first term on the board, and is eligible for a second term.

The names of the individuals recommended for the positions will be forwarded to the appropriate Nominating Committee for consideration. On March 1, 2022, the Nominating Committees will determine the slates of nominees for the two boards, which will then be forwarded to the members of the IACBE for approval at the Annual Conference and Assembly Meeting in April 2022.
