IACBE President Conducts International Accreditation Forums in India

SEAA TrustLenexa, Kansas, USA (August 2013) – In partnership with the Standards for Educational Advancement and Accreditation (SEAA) Trust in New Delhi, India and Peregrine Academic Services in the USA, Mr. Dennis N. Gash, President of the IACBE, conducted international accreditation forums in New Delhi and Bangalore, India on August 3 and August 5, 2013, respectively.

Forum partner representatives included Mr. Thothathri Raman, Chairman of the SEAA Trust, Mr. William Parrott, Director of Strategic Alliances for Peregrine Academic Services, and Ms. Deborah Robbins, Director of Australian and South Asian Operations for the Peregrine Leadership Institute.

These two-city forums were developed as knowledge-dissemination workshops dealing with international accreditation by the IACBE, the program-level assessment tool offered by Peregrine Academic Services, and the need for building capacity and educational quality in Indian business schools. The forums introduced the IACBE’s outcomes-based approach to accreditation, the methods used to measure student learning and institutional effectiveness, and other essential processes for advancing academic quality in business schools and programs. In addition, the forums also showcased the IACBE’s W. Edwards Deming-Michael Porter-Quality Management System framework for quality assurance in business and management education.

Mr. Gash and the representatives from Peregrine Academic Services and the SEAA Trust presented the merits of adopting global quality assurance standards, accreditation criteria, and peer-review processes. The forums also highlighted the IACBE’s distinctive approach to advancing academic quality in business and management education by combining its unique philosophy of accreditation and quality assurance processes with the organizational cultures of the business schools it accredits.

New Delhi-BangalorePeregrine Academic Services – an IACBE President’s Circle Sponsor – presented its tools for (i) the program-level assessment of student learning outcomes in business programs and (ii) the academic leveling of students entering graduate-level programs in business.
