Lenexa, Kansas, USA (April 2016) – During the Recognition and Awards Luncheon at its 2016 Annual Conference and Assembly Meeting on April 5-8, 2016 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) presented the following annual awards of excellence:

John L. Green Award for Excellence in Business Education

The John L. Green Award for Excellence in Business Education honors individuals who have made significant contributions that advance the cause of academic quality in business education in a manner consistent with the IACBE’s Characteristics of Excellence in Business Education.

2016 Recipient:

  • Dr. Chip Mason, Dean of the School of Business at Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi

Frank V. Mastrianna Education Leader of the Year Award

The Frank V. Mastrianna Education Leader of the Year Award honors members of the IACBE community who are exemplary higher education leaders and who have made significant contributions to an institution of higher education or a higher education organization. The recipients are chosen based on their contributions to higher education, their communities, and the IACBE or the members of the IACBE.

2016 Recipient:

  • Dr. Aysegul Timur, Dean of the Johnson School of Business at Hodges University in Fort Myers, Florida

Excellence in Teaching Award

The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes outstanding faculty members from the IACBE community who have significant records of accomplished teaching in business education.

2016 Recipient:

  • Dr. Nipoli Kamdar, Professor of Economics in the Department of Maritime Policy and Management at the California State University-Maritime Academy (CSUMA) in Vallejo, California
